How K.I.D.L.A.W. started
K.I.D.L.A.W. was started by two 10 year olds named Emily M. and Daniel B. We decided to start a business helping out Daniel's dad, Jonathan A. Backman, Attorney at Law, with some of his legal work. We did this to get paid, but mostly to learn something about the law and being a lawyer. Now we want to pass that knowledge onto you.
How the name changed
Originally, our name was just Kidlaw. We had that name for about 6 months when someone emailed us about our name having to be changed because their name was Kidlaw, and they were a legal services that helped families. Daniel emailed them back saying that this isn't a professional business but if he wanted our name to be changed, he could tell us. He never emailed back, but we changed our name anyway to something Daniel put his already made up word(s) into action. Daniel had already made up something standing for Kidlaw. It is the Kids Intelligence Department of Law And Work. So we decided to change our name to K.I.D.L.A.W., which is essentially the same name, but standing for something.
